Kidding Schedule 2023

***Our herd is disease-tested annually and G6S normal***

PRICING: Prices are set after the kids are born and evaluated. Buck kids range from $400-$500, doe kids range from $400-$600. This is a performance farm, meaning that our animals should produce higher-than-average milk yields and have great conformation. A lot of work goes into showing and milk testing, as well as keeping a herd healthy. Our prices reflect that. Pricing may be adjusted due to market needs or for the character of the goat. Milk stars and show wins command a higher price tag. An animal with breed character flaws (particularly higher generations) may be priced differently.  Wethered boys and any animal with serious breed defects (like an extra teat) will be sold unpapered at pet pricing ($150).

Per our Sales Policy , Size Matters Microranch reserves the right to retain any animal born on our property after kidding and before reservations are filled.

Size Matters Microranch is currently breeding for milk production, great udders, smaller size, beautiful conformation, and on-point breed character. Breeding for all these things is difficult (like genetic whack-a-mole). Color is not a priority, although we do expect some flashy kids. Some of our pairings have the potential to produce blue eyes, moonspots, chocolate, and/or polled kids.

If we are planning to retain a doe kid from a pairing, there is a higher likelihood the dam will be for sale. Please fill out our Reservation Form if you would like to make a reservation.

February

Proett x Goldie

UPDATE: Kidding occurred 2/8/23 and produced adorable twin bucklings. One is polled and both are available.

This pairing should produce smaller kids with well-attached and soft-textured mammary. Both parents come from genetically strong milk-lines. Dam will be on milk test. Moonspots, blue-eyes, chocolate and polled are all possible.

Proett X Gwen AR*D*P

UPDATE: Kidding occurred 2/7/23 and produced very flashy triplets (2 bucks, 1 doe). All are reserved.

This pairing should produce medium-sized, long-bodied and correct kids with excellent milk genetics and strong breed character. Chocolate, moonspots, blue eyes and polled are all possible. Gwendolyn’s 2019 buckling is Colorado’s first home-grown Grand Champion.

Proett x Gemini (RGCH)

UPDATE: Kidding occurred 2/7/23 and produced spotted twin bucklings. One is polled, and both are available.

This pairing should produce smaller-sized, well-balanced kids. Strong milk and udder genetics on both sides. Dam will be on milk test. Chocolate, moonspots, blue-eyes and polled all possible.

Proett x Justice

UPDATE: Kidding occurred 2/7/23 and produced buck/doe twins. The doe is reserved and buckling is available.

This pairing is a conformation powerhouse and should produce very level, wide kids with good breed character. Milky Green Gables genetics on both sides. Dam will be on milk test. Chocolate, moonspots, blue eyes and polled are all possible.

Sors*S*B (RGCH) x Pearl 6*D2*P

UPDATE: Pearl kidded 3 bucklings and 1 doeling on 3-2-23. All boys are available. This pairing should produce correct medium-sized kids with socked-on, soft udders and excellent milk potential.

Sors*S*B(RGCH) X Lily

UPDATE: Lily kidded beautiful twin doelings on 3-1-23. This pairing should produce smaller-sized, correct kids with good breed character and lots of milky potential. Kids could be roan or polled. Lily will be on test this spring.

March

Sors*S*B(RGCH) x Ember

UPDATE: Ember kidded triplet bucklings on 3-14-23. Kidding to occur after 3-12-23, twins (or more) confirmed via ultrasound. Kids should be small-sized adults with good breed character. Ember will be on test this spring. Red-cheek pattern, roaning, blue-eyes and polled are all possible.

Proett x Calliope

UPDATE: Calliope kidded twin doelings on 4-1-23. Kidding to occur after 3-28-23, confirmed via U/S. This is an exciting pairing for me as Calliope is my favorite 2021 doe, and this is her first freshening. Kids should be long and dairy with loads of great and proven milky genetics behind them. Calliope will be on test in the spring. We will be retaining heavily from this breeding; kids could be polled, moonspotted, chocolate, or blue-eyed.

April

Boreas *S*B x Brighid

UPDATE: Brighid kidded a lovely singleton buckling on 4-4-23. Kidding to occur after 4-2-23, confirmed via U/S. This pairing is almost guaranteed to produce beautiful dairy kids with heavy milk. Brighid has lovely udder attachment and a remarkable escutcheon. She should easily earn her milk star this spring. Kids should be small-medium sized and could have moonspots and blue eyes.

Boreas*S*B X Bo

UPDATE: Kidding occurred 4-14-23, Buck/doe twins. Kidding to occur after 4-9-23, confirmed via U/S. This pairing should produce wide kids with lots of milky potential. Although Bo has no idea how to pose for the camera, she is a stunning doe in person. Boreas should add dairyness to her kids and ensure their breed character. Kids should be medium-sized adults with great milk potential. Bo will be on test this spring. Kids could have moonspots.

Boreas*S*B x Venus

UPDATE: Venus kidded 4-5-23. Because her labor was so much earlier than expected, she had an unattended outdoor delivery of 2 doelings, but only one survived. Kidding to occur after 4-14-23, confirmed via U/S. This is an exciting pairing combining beautiful and milky genetics. Venus will be on test this spring and her dam is a 10lb milker. Kids should be very dairy with great breed character. They may also be moonspotted, blue-eyed or polled

Sors*S*B (RGCH) x Khione (RGCH)

UPDATE: Khione kidded beautiful buck/doe twins on 4-21-23. Kidding to occur 4-18-23, confirmed via U/S. This pairing should produce exceptionally correct and milky kids with great breed character. Moonspots and roan possible. Khione will be on test this spring and should easily earn a star.
