Justice’s First Kidding

If you’ve been following along, you know that I missed Gwendolyn’s kidding this morning by minutes. Well, these girls must be in cahoots because Justice snuck one by me too. After I got Gwennie settled, I checked on my other girls and Justice was looking labor-y. Her little udder was firm and her ligaments were gone. It’s 149 days after her breeding to Proett. I moved Gwen and Company into the barn since everyone was dry and stable, and moved Justice into our kidding area. She wasn’t having discharge and immediately began chowing down on her snacks, so I felt pretty comfortable going to my doctor’s appointment. I was gone for 1.5 hours and when I got back, there were 2 wet babies in the pen. It was deja-vu all over again! So far, Justice has a lovely udder. She also received first place in her class of 21 Sr Yearling Does in the Fall 2022 MDGA V-show (GCH Line-up pending).

Here’s what she had:

Buck: solid bezoar, brown eyes, horned, available.

Doe: bezoar, heavy roaning, possible moonspots, frosted ears, white face/poll, brown eyes, polled. I’m probably retaining this one too.
