***Our herd is disease-tested annually and G6S normal***
Please note that pricing has been set for BEST potential kids expected from the pairing. Pricing may be adjusted due to market needs or for the character of the goat. Milk stars and show wins command a higher price tag. An animal with breed character flaws (particularly higher generations) may be priced differently. Wethered boys and any animal with serious breed defects (like an extra teat) will be sold unpapered at pet pricing ($100).
Per our Sales Policy , Size Matters Microranch reserves the right to retain any animal born on our property after kidding before reservations are filled.
Size Matters Microranch is currently breeding for milk production, great udders, small size, beautiful conformation, and on-point breed character. Breeding for all these things is difficult (like genetic whack-a-mole). Color is not a priority, although we do expect some flashy kids. Some of our pairings have the potential to produce blue eyes, moonspots, and/or polled kids.
If we are planning to retain a doe kids from a pairing, there is a high likelihood the dam will be for sale. A few of these does are even available after breeding. Please contact us if you would like to make a reservation.
For 2020 Kids
Update! Fiona delivered a mini-me doeling and buckling on March 10th. The doeling is retained and the buckling is reserved as a 4H wether.
Update! Terra has kidded a single buckling, moonspotted and blue-eyed. He is reserved.
Terra was confirmed (via ultrasound) pregnant with twins, due after Feb 24th. Terra and Nighthawk’s F7 kids should be medium-size, long and have great breed character with solid conformation and beautifully attached udders. Blue eyes and moonspots possible. Two buckling and two doeling reservations available. Kids will be 56.35% Nubian/ 43.65% Nigerian). Doelings $400, bucklings $350.
Update: May has kidded twins! A blue-eyed boy and a brown-eyed girl. The boy is reserved and the girl is retained. May is also reserved in milk after weaning.
Ultrasound confirmed a twin pregnancy due after Feb 19th. Kids will be F6, should have great breed character, medium-build and may have moonspots and blue eyes. May has an excellent udder and nice milk production. She will be on DHI testing after kidding. One doeling retained. Doelings $400, Bucklings $350.
UPDATE: Gwendolyn did indeed kid a singleton buckling on June 10th. He has been reserved.
Ultrasound confirmed a singleton (or more) pregnancy due June 5th or later. Vet says it looks like a BOY. Gwen and Hocus’s dam have milk stars. Gwen placed first in her age group at our show this year, and Hocus was the Jr buck Champion/reserve Champion. Boys will be *B. Kids will be F5, should be moonspotted, long with good breed character. Lots of milk and nice soft udders behind this pairing. One doeling retained. Doelings $500, Bucklings $400.
UPDATE: Rhea kidded a beautiful pair of twins on 6/21. The boy strongly resembles his sire and the girl is a good blend of both parents.
Ultrasound confirmed a twin pregnancy due after 6/21. This is an exciting pairing for me because Rhea is my 50/50 F1 from 2019. She is long, elegant and dairy with ridiculously cute airplane ears. She has a pedigree full of high, tight udders and milk. I’m counting on Hocus to keep her kids shorter and maximize their milk production (his dam has a *P). He should also level-out her topline. Kids will be F2 and may be spotted with breed character improved over the dam. Doelings $350, bucklings $250.
UPDATE: Jackie kidded buck/doe twins on 6/29. Both are blue eyed and the doeling strongly resembles NightHawk. DNA testing is pending and the buckling is available.
Jackie has been confirmed due with twins or more after 6/25. She will be on DHIA after kidding and is expected to earn a star. Jackie is so feminine, deep and dairy with the most amazing ears I’ve seen. I will definitely be retaining a daughter from this pairing and hoping for some of the udder attachments that Atlas is bringing. Jackie had quads last year, so there are some reservations available for these F4 kids. They may be moonspotted and should have great breed character and soft udders. 1 doeling and 2 buckling reservations available. Doelings$450, bucklings $400.
UPDATE: Duchess kidded buck/doe twins on 6/29. DNA testing is pending, and both are available. Duchess was bred on 2/1/20 to either Atlas, NightHawk, or Guy; DNA testing will be performed, although the likeliest culprit is NightHawk
Duchess is due after 6/25 with twins, confirmed via ultrasound. Kids will be F6, petite, with very dairy skin/udders. Duchess’s dam is on her way to earning a milk star this year and I expect Duchess to earn a star after this freshening. Kids may be spotted and blue-eyed. One doeling retained. Doelings $400, Bucklings $350.
Pregnancy confirmed by U/S and due after 7-5-2020. This is an exciting pairing. Kids will be F5, short-medium stature, and wide with very correct conformation and pliable, dairy skin. Excellent breed character expected; potential for heavy milkers. Moonspots and blue eyes possible. Reservations available; doelings $400, bucklings $350. Pixie will be on DHIA after kidding and Hocus’s dam has a *P.
Breeding to occur ASAP. Juno will be on DHIA after kidding and is expected to earn a star, meaning bucklings could inherit a *B. Juno placed first in her age group recently at our 2019 show! Kids will be F5, petite, could be moonspotted and should have nice breed character. One doeling retained. Doelings $450, bucklings $350. Juno will be available in milk after this kidding/weaning.
Breeding to occur ASAP. Wicca will be on DHIA this year and should earn a star as a FF if she’s anything like her maternal half-sister, Sugar. I expect Wicca to have a long and productive career here, so I will not be retaining kids THIS year. These F5 kids will be up for grabs! They should be milky and splashy/spotted with show-winning conformation and soft udders! Doelings $450, bucklings $400
Breeding to occur later in 2020. Andi is a stunning and vivacious junior doe with good width between the hocks and nice teat-size/placement. She has a level topline and long rump. Her breeding to Hocus should solidify these qualities in her kids. Kids will be F6, should be moonspotted and may be blue-eyed. They should be medium-sized. Andi will be on DHIA after kidding and Hocus’s dam has a *P. Reservations available. Does $400, bucks $350.
Breeding to occur later in 2020. Helen is beautiful junior doe with remarkable depth and dairy-ness. She has a level topline and great breed character. Her breeding to Hocus should add width and milkiness to the line. Kids will be F6, should be moonspotted and may be blue-eyed. They should be medium-sized. Helen will be on DHIA after kidding and Hocus’s dam has a *P. Reservations available, Does $400, bucks $350.
